Director of Marketing

Location: San Francisco or Remote (10% max travel)

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for branding, positioning, demand generation, and product marketing. This leader will not take a traditional approach to marketing but rather develop a GTM strategy and plan that aligns with our unique Growth model. This critical role requires the individual to be very comfortable with high profile individuals such as former White House directors, counter intelligence officers, senior executives at Fortune 500 companies, board members, and the senior leadership team. This position will report to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Build, manage, lead and mentor the team driving and executing on demand generation, channel marketing, events, product marketing and content. 

  • Develop all marketing strategies and plans including identifying ideal customer profiles, defining customer / user buyer journey, generating and tracking product-led opportunities, managing budget, designing creative and content strategy, and campaign programs. 

  • Define, manage and meet (or exceed) north star metric and associated KPIs 

  • Plan and executive multi-channel campaigns and programs to drive net new opportunities, reinforce messaging, and increase brand awareness. 

  • Drive mindshare across enterprises, channel partners, industry influencers, analysts, media, and technology partners. 

  • Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders in Sales, Customer Success, Channel, Product Management, and Engineering 

  • Report on a consistent basis (weekly, monthly and quarterly) on progress against marketing plans and metrics − Establish a regular cadence within the team, across channel partners, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of plan. 

  • Develop a competitive analysis and update quarterly to provide fresh insights on marketing trends, movements and differentiation. 

  • Lead and develop content and enablement plan to educate internal and external audiences.

Who You Are

  • Experience in cybersecurity. Threat intelligence or adjacent markets preferred. 

  • Experience working at a technology start-up managing growing marketing teams. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally. − Ability to define strategic and tactical business plans 

  • Ability to collaborate across the organization 

  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment 

  • Proven successful track record of exceeding marketing goals and objectives. 

  • Proven experience in B2B SaaS environment focusing on selling to large enterprises and SMB − Experience working with channel partners and developing channel programs and content. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in business administration, marketing, or related fields

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise security marketing.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing marketing teams. 

  • Strong background in HubSpot, Salesforce CRM, web conferencing systems, GSuite, Gainsight, Jira, Slack, and other analytics / productivity tools. 

  • Strong experience in copywriting, paid media, press relations, analyst relations, email management, and video development 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare documentation and presentations.
