Since our last pulse check the top three malware on the TruSTAR platform remain to be njRAT, Emotet, and Darkcomet. Recently the OSINT community has been reporting instances of njRAT expanding its capabilities to include encrypting files and stealing bitcoins.

The Mirai botnet variant tops the list in emerging threats. This variant has 11 new exploits that target many peripheral devices used in business environments including wireless presentation systems and TVs. This leads researchers at UNIT42 to believe that there is a potential shift to using Mirai to target enterprises.
